Transformative Alliances allows organizations to better accomplish their missions, live their values, and have an intentional impact through anti-oppression and equity work.  Transformative Alliances believes that a long history of oppression has resulted in the ongoing devaluing and marginalization of traditionally targeted communities (such as people of color, women, LGBTQI people, poor and working class people, immigrants, etc.), producing a deep need to devise and support anti-oppression efforts.

We believe that through anti-oppression work it is possible to: create an environment that is genuinely cohesive, welcoming, and equitable through self-reflection, action, and meaningful alliances; improve an organization’s services and accountability to the communities it serves, transform organizational culture, policies, and structures to support the full realization of people’s talents, leadership, and creativity; and recognize and reflect on biases, whether they are conscious or unconscious, identify the consequences that these biases produce, devise ways to address their root causes, and create a more just world.
